About Me

Hellooo and thanks for stopping by – I am an ex-Manhattanite that now very happily has been living in London for over ten years.   I work in the, not as glamourous as you would think, world of fashion photography.  Being a freelancer where the money comes and goes and goes: you always must be prepared for The Lean Times.

I discovered your site quite by accident and have thoroughly enjoyed it. You really remind me of my sister. I am all ears to learn all I can from you on living lean and mean! Thank you.

I met you in Portobello last week and have just had time to look at your website. Very interesting! I have been living like this for some years now and many people think that I am quite well off. It is just a case of looking after what you have andusing the markets for food. Much cheaper!
I grew up in the 1950s and life was a bit tough then as well. Nothing went to waste and it hurts me, even now, to see good food being wasted. Besides, left over greens, veggies and potatoes make fantastic bubble and squeak! Bulk buying in wholesalers is another good idea. If you chose the time to buy then you can get large boxes of detergent for washing for about £10 and they last for about 6 months. (120 wash boxes). I am writing this on a second hand computer (£60) and pay ony £6.30 per month for hi speed internet.

Good luck with the website. Clive.
